Graitec releases version 2021 of Advance PowerPack

With Advance Powerpack 2021, Graitec delivers to Autodesk users the best solution to CREATE-SIMULATE-FABRICATE-MANAGE all your BIM projects! New packages to better address professional needs, ’00s of new features for improved BIM Collaboration, enhanced analysis & design performance and better countrification.


Navisworks Clashes: users can visualize directly inside Revit, Clashes on Revit models detected by Navisworks. Thus, the workflow starts from Revit models send to Navisworks for launching a clash detection. Then, this test detection must be exported in an XML files to be read by the Powerpack.

This new command is a powerful functionality to export Revit Project and Revit views into multiple target formats in one single step. As Revit natively proposed, our tools propose to users many export format: GbXml, IFC, NWC, DWF, DWFX, DGN, DWG, DXF, SAT, FBX, Image...

Users will be available to select in this dialog box, multiple Revit projects or Revit views, and associate the target format expected. All exported files will be generated in the output folder set.

A new feature enables users to convert all Grids among a Revit Project into Revit symbol, making them visible in a 3D view. By picking one grid, the 3D grids feature will convert all Revit grids and propose user to open a specific Revit view. Grids will be then visible in 3D views, and the level of those ones could be set through native Revit instance parameter of the symbol.

The previous command Move XY was improved in this version, offering some new options to place exactly where you point a selected object. After selecting an object, users will be able to enter exact coordinates where to move or copy the elements and this, according to any system referential existing in Revit.


Openings Reinforcement: this new command is used to quickly generate constructive reinforcement around openings. It supports the generation of reinforcement around openings on slabs and walls and allows for generating rebars for multiple separate openings at once.


The new Edge Reinforcement command is used to quickly generate structural reinforcement along the edges of elements such as slabs or walls. This command works by selecting one (or more) edge face so that the reinforcement can be generated for multiple configurations.

In order to improve quality and control, multiple changes have been made to the mechanisms for generating bar bending details. To speed up and facilitate the indication of the location of the bending details, they are now generated after indicating the point of insertion, both for individual selection of rebars and for generation for all rebars after the host element has been selected. It avoids the slowing down caused by the refreshing of diagrams when moving or zooming.


The new Cranked Bars command is used to quickly generate cranks at selected ends of longitudinal reinforcement bars. This command is especially helpful in all situations where we want to avoid collisions of collinear bars. Cranks can be defined on straight bars, also with hooks, modelled individually or distributed. In the case of bars in distribution, cranks are defined in a direction perpendicular to the direction of distribution




Tick and Tag: new End Bar Symbol command allowing a quick creation on 2D views of a special symbol showing the location of ends of straight bars. It is useful especially for cases when rebars overlap on the view. The type of bar end symbol depends on the family used (Detail items category). The default family and type are selected in the Reinforcement Configuration window.



The new PowerPack Ribbon reorganizes the functionalities having in mind the user workflow, from creating elements, macros, to fabrication and managing files. The commands are regrouped in new panels based on the steps needed to be done along with the project creation.


The Check Parts command was created to detect the parts which don’t need a detailed drawing and can be ordered or fabricated based on the information available in the BOM. The command search for elements that do not contain any machining, holes, etc., and besides marking them, is adding "Without drawing" as supplementary information in the User Attributes element properties dialog.


When it comes to the BIM workflow, the 2021 version of the PowerPack has new options to exchange the information between Advance Steel and Graitec software: GTC/GTCX import and export.


Located at the end of the new ribbon, the new Learn option gathers all the external information you can find about the PowerPack functionalities, like videos, FAQs and the activity on the social hubs.



Starting with the 2021 version, the straight stairs can be configured with a new type of treads, Special Parts treads. Using the Special Manager, the user can configure new types of special parts for the treads.


The treads can have a new configuration thanks to the new functionality: Nosing bars. The nosing bars can be created from profiles or from folded profiles. Besides the treads, also the landings can have nosing bars.


The Stairs modelling often requires the ability to extend the stringer/landing support beyond the confines of the base setting out plan parameters, to reach and allow connection with existing supporting steelwork.  Also, where the landing turns, there needs to be an option to allow for the inner stringer to go past the turning point and extend to the outer stringer of the second flight. For that, we have created the ability to have stringer extensions depending on the required configuration.


The Landing additional supports option is a brand-new functionality which comes with multiple configurations depending on the type of landing, landing orientation, and stringer extension:

  •   Straight landing
  •   Landing with a left or right turning
  •   Landing with 1st inner stringer extended
  •   Landing with 2nd inner stringer extended


New GUI for Railings with an entirely new organization and detailed images, clearer and more concise, offering a better user experience. All railing functionalities benefit from the new interface: Standard Railing, Wall Mounted, Double Post, Ball Post, Key Clamps.

New Double Post Railing macro for better user interaction and easier configuration. Available in the new Stairs and Railings palette, under the Railings, the new Double Post railing macro is redesigned in such a way that the configuration is intuitive, easy, and fast.


New ending types in the new release 2021 allowing users to create new configurations:

  •   Swan neck
  •   Return to wall


With the new Railings version, a new mechanism is implemented: Split Rail. The split mechanism is available for all Top rails and for the Wall rail. The split can be done in 2 ways:

  •   Based on the post/wall rail bracket position
  •   Based on max distance
