Discover the power of the Fusion 360 CAM capabilities

If CAM is your game, then Autodesk Fusion 360 is what you need to be using right now.

Fusion 360 CAM has 2D, 3D, 4-axis, 5-axis and turning strategies to fulfil your needs.

Fusion 360 CAM also gives you the option of using 2D and 3D Adaptive clearing. Adaptive clearing calculates paths based on a sophisticated algorithm that constantly considers the remaining material and maintains optimal tool engagement throughout the cut. Since we keep cut load constant, you can push the tool a lot faster and deeper through the material.

Here’s how you can create a complete machined part in Fusion 360 CAM in 5 easy steps:

Step 1 – Create and open CAD data

Use the dashboard to open or upload an existing design, or create the new design in Fusion 360 using common Autodesk Inventor tools.

Step 2 – Define job setup

Select setup on the Fusion CAM ribbon, define the WCS stock point and stock size then select OK.

Step 3 – Define operations

Use the right tool from the Fusion CAM library, select the required CNC strategy and select the area to machine, which will generate the required tool path.

Step 4 – Simulate toolpath

Use the simulation tool on the CAM ribbon to simulate and verify your tool paths. Options of show stock and stop on collision can be used. By simulating your toolpaths, you can make sure your part will be machined without any errors or damage to equipment. Use the timeline play button to simulate the toolpaths.

Step 5 – Post code

Once you are happy with the simulation you can select Post Process on the Fusion CAM ribbon, pick one of the many available post configurations that Fusion CAM has to offer, select the save location and choose Post.

Fusion 360 CAM uses brackets for editing post processed output, post configurations and log files. Brackets will be automatically installed once you select post process. Below is a sample of the code created which can be uploaded to the CNC machine:

Benefits of using integrated Fusion CAM
• Fusion CAM tools allow you to quickly program machined parts inside an easy to use user interface. If you are familiar to Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD, then you will find Fusion 360 CAM easy to use.
• Fusion 360 CAM processors calculations and toolpaths very fast, allowing you to make changes to the machining operations very quickly to get the right output you desire.
• Fusion 360 CAM supports 2D, 3D, 4-axis, 5-axis milling and turning in the most ease of use interface.

Advantages of using integrated Fusion CAM
• Consistent and familiar workflow
• Eliminates translation issues
• Enables efficient collaboration
• One system – design through manufacturing

Integrated CAM minimizes risk, improves quality control, reduces scrap, minimizes downtime – so more profits, better business.
