How To Identify The Year Version A Revit Project Or Family Was Created Or Saved In

For many years when opening an Autodesk Revit file, it was a bit of a pain when selecting it then seeing the ‘Your model is being upgraded’ dialog and then having to wait for the file to upgrade. Now because most companies work on multiple versions of Revit, if this was a large file the upgrade procedure can be very slow and unnecessary.

Well did you know that since the 2019 version, with Revit open and using the open command, when you select the Revit Project or Revit Family, if you look to the right-hand side of the dialog below the preview, the year version that it was saved in will be displayed.
