LLC Experts-Conseils has eliminated double data entry and reduced errors thanks to the Revit + Advance Design duo, while accelerating the modeling–analysis–documentation cycle

Company size: 5 people + field teams
Software used: Autodesk Revit, GRAITEC Advance Design, PowerPack for Revit

LLC Experts-Conseils is a structural engineering firm involved in new buildings, extensions, and infrastructure works. Projects often involve mixed structures (steel, concrete, wood), requiring frequent construction details and close coordination with architecture. The team consists of five people in the office, supported by field resources.
The team consists of five people in the office, supported by field resources. Historically, production was carried out in 2D using AutoCAD, with calculations performed manually – a proven approach but one that quickly becomes limiting when deadlines tighten, systems become more complex, or architect-engineer coordination intensifies.
The recruitment of Serge Nwotue Mouelle at LLC Experts-Conseils a little over a year ago coincided with a clear objective from management: to accelerate and secure projects through BIM (Building Information Modeling) and a unified calculation environment. After a short period of research and field feedback, the company adopted Advance Design and paired it with Revit – a duo that now structures the daily design and calculation workflow.

The workflow at LLC Experts-Conseils begins in Revit, ideally from a native RVT file provided by the architectural firm: the model opens directly in Revit, and the transition from Architecture to Structure happens instantly within the same environment, making use of the levels, grids, and geometries already in place. When only 2D DWG plans are available, they are imported or linked as background drawings, and then Revit’s dedicated structural tools are used to model the structure in 3D and produce a validation model intended for the architect.
Once the structural model has been validated by the architectural firm, the export via the BIM Connect tool reliably transfers the geometry to Advance Design. This analysis software from GRAITEC provides dedicated tools that make it easy to fine-tune the analytical model: adjusting connections, managing eccentricities, and making local corrections can all be done in just a few clicks. Automatic generation of climate loads runs in a matter of seconds, offering significant time savings compared to manual methods.
Detailed calculation reports provide complete traceability for each choice made. The optimization follows a systematic approach: identify the most heavily stressed elements, refine their sizing, then replicate these decisions across similar elements to combine material savings with overall robustness. Once the model has been optimized, the return to Revit is seamless, allowing the documentation phase to begin immediately and enabling the production of clear, consistent deliverables.

At LLC Experts-Conseils, rebar design is now structured to deliver faster and with fewer errors. After analysis in Advance Design, the team relies on internal forces (envelopes) and lets the concrete modules propose realistic reinforcement cages, complete with all required checks. The cage is then saved in GTCX format and used as a template in Revit: it can be reused on similar concrete elements thanks to their unique identifiers, allowing the team to target the correct objects without trial and error.
The team can then filter, display, and annotate the reinforcement using Revit’s standard tools, with no manual rework. Rebar schedules are generated with the PowerPack for Revit at the project level rather than element by element, which significantly reduces repetitive tasks and improves the consistency and reliability of the documentation.
