Revit teams need tools that remove repeat tasks, protect project standards, and help them focus on the work that requires their expertise.

That is the purpose behind the new release of the Ideate Software Bundle and Ideate Automation: Built to Eliminate the Repetitive. Built to Reclaim Your Time.

Ideate Software Bundle

This release introduces Ideate ExportHub to the IdeateApps toolkit, expands model quality and health workflows in Ideate BIMLink, improves interoperability across connected project environments, and strengthens Ideate Automation for scheduled, repeatable, and more reliable delivery workflows.

Here’s what you can look forward to:
  • Dynamic Sheet/View Sets: Use dynamic parameter-based filters to export sheets or views or use Revit’s saved sheet or view sets for a seamless intuitive workflow.
  • Fast and Repeatable Workflows: Save your preferred export file locations and run quick, on-demand exports or multi-format export packages tailored to your project.
  • Set It and Forget It: Schedule exports during off-hours are now available for Ideate Automation subscribers, ensuring your deliverables are ready when you need them.
  • Customizable and Consistent: Share export setup configurations, naming conventions and sheet or view sets across projects to keep your project deliverables clean, organized and client ready.
Interoperability – Collaboration

Working more seamlessly with Forma, cloud storage platforms (e.g. One Drive), and Excel is another theme for the fixes and improvements in this release.

  • Support for %userprofile% file paths have been added to Ideate Sticky, Ideate ExportHub, and Ideate Automation, ensuring that files saved on cloud platforms like Forma and One Drive can synchronize across your organization.
  • Enhanced handling of Excel filters and formatting to ensure Ideate BIMLink reliably writes data to XLSX files.
  • Support for Revit Sheet Collections is now extended to Ideate Explorer and IdeateApps workflows to ensure
    Performance
Performance

In this release we’ve greatly improved the performance of Ideate Explorer, reducing the time needed to navigate through your complex BIM models. Ideate StyleManager also includes an update, allowing merging of styles, including parameters, without the overhead of doing an analysis, greatly reducing the time needed to audit and clean your models.

 Ideate Automation

For Ideate Software Bundle/Enterprise subscribers, the addition of Ideate ExportHub brings a new level of control to the file exports made via Ideate Automation. The related script called HUB-Export_Package brings significant improvements and extends the functionality of Ideate Automation exports:

  • Support for new file types including Images, DXF, DWF, DWFx, Images, and FBX.
  • Use ExportHub to set all file naming rules conventions, removing the need to script inside of Ideate Automation
  • Use ExportHub to set project file paths, removing the need to get geeky within Ideate Automation
New Workflows – Template and Library Content

The existing script, AUT-Families-RVT generates a report on the families found within the selected Revit project(s). In this release, this same script now also supports the batch exporting of your selected families’ files to a specified location, saving hours of manual exporting time, facilitating project template, and library creation processes.

Speaking of family content, Ideate Automation also includes two new workflows for Ideate BIMLink subscribers, aimed at generating detailed data reports on your family content, either from within an RVT or from a folder of families. Use the samples as a starting point, then customize with your preferred BIMLink Link Definitions. Look for IBL-Export_Link_Definitions-Families-RFA and IBL-Export_Link_Definitions-Families-RVT.

Performance

Ideate Automation 3.6 includes many fixes and improvements focused on performance. You’ll find that the Refresh files process and the Publish script (AUT-AdskCloud-Publish Model) are faster and more reliable. Additionally, all PDF scripts have been updated to include a variable option for timeout, ensuring completion of extra-large models.
